Hypnosis to Stop Smoking

Quitting cigarettes is often the best thing you can do for your health. Smoking has been linked with a number of related illnesses, from lung cancer to heart disease, and it can even put your children at risk of inhaling second hand smoke if you light up around them.

By now, we all know the detrimental effects that smoking can have on your health and even your relationships,  but quitting might seem like a distant dream. You might have tried patches, nicotine gum, cognitive behavioural therapy, and other techniques, but if they haven't worked out for you, I might have an answer.

Hypnotherapy.

Studies show that hypnosis can be an effective way to stop smoking. But first of all, you have to choose an accredited hypnotherapist for the job.

There are so many hypnotherapists in London that it's easy to get overwhelmed. I offer affordable hypnosis sessions that help you break your bad smoking habits.  For smoking cessation, I always advise that my clients book a two hour session as you've probably built up the habit over a long period of time so it might be tougher to break than most other habits.

When Should You Not Get Hypnotherapy to Quit Smoking?

If you're not ready to quit, chances are hypnosis won't work for you. Hyptherapy is all about tapping into your subconscious thoughts so you can change your thinking about different habits you have. It therefore makes sense that you need to actually want to quit smoking in order to succeed with hypnotherapy.

If you bring a positive attitude, I'll help you with the rest! Take a look at the studies completed on hypnotherapy.

Hypnosis for Smokers: What to Expect

I take a three-pronged approach:

  1. Using the power of suggestion to help you associate smoking with negative memories and emotions.
  2. Getting to the root cause of why you smoke (if there is one!) and bringing this to your conscious mind so you can more effectively break the habit.
  3. Teaching you self-hypnosis techniques so you can combat any cravings you might get while on the go.

If you're having real trouble breaking the habit, we can work together to think of a positive habit you can get into whenever you have the temptation to smoke. The urge to smoke usually only lasts around 30 seconds before it dulls again, so if you can occupy your mind, your mouth or your hands during this time, chances are the time will pass before you reach for a lighter.
